Michael Gordon Bennett

Michael has forged a 30-year-career in media and entertainment. He is a published author, producer, journalist, actor, host, former television programming executive and a United States Air Force Veteran. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from California State University, Northridge and a Certificate in Feature Film Writing from UCLA.

His most recent screenplay, Destination Unknown has been recognized at the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, the Austin Film Festival and the Big Apple Film Festival. The story centers on a traumatized 17-year-old volunteer during WWII who escapes the clutches of the Klan only to find an equally insidious foe within that threatens to thwart his segregated battalion’s critical D-Day mission. Its MEN OF HONOR meets RED TAILS and based on a true story. This film is currently in development. In addition to Destination Unknown, Michael is writing several new screenplays, the first of which will be ready in late 2022.

Michael’s first book 7-10 Split, a memoir, is a Reader’s Favorite 5-Star recipient and received wonderful reviews from Publisher’s Weekly and Independent Publisher.

Michael was previously a writer/contributor to the Huffington Post, magazines such as Black Enterprise, and currently writes for the website TripCast360 where he also acts as the host of the TripCast360 podcast which covers travel, tourism and entertainment.

Michael’s production experience includes, Senior Producer and Manager of the Travel Channel’s west coast productions. He’s produced pilots for NBC, Court TV, BET, and a reality series that appeared on FOX and consulted on a FOX Family channel reality series.

He’s worked in both radio and television newsrooms as a writer/editor/producer/anchor in the Los Angeles market. Michael was a copy editor and advertising account executive at the Los Angeles Daily News, written corporate brochures for Toyota and Zenith Insurance, written numerous business plans, primarily for independent film producers and has extensive experience in developing Media Kits and other press materials.

Michael is a former voting member of the Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences (Emmy Awards), a former Board Member of BrandUSA, the marketing/advisory arm created as part of the Travel Promotion Act created by president Barack Obama and advisory member for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Brain Institute in Las Vegas.
